A corrupt office, with NO accountability, which I am currently suing!
I had a friend IN JAIL there, and while in their custody they did NOT take her to a scheduled court appearance! Then they issued a FTA on her! And declared that the FTA was VALID!!!
Now she has had a judicial review hearing scheduled for a month (she's doing time in DOC) and the day before the hearing no one has informed the sheriff's office that she has court tomorrow, so she isn't scheduled to be brought down for the hearing! Thus she won't be there!!!!!!!!!!
One the office sucks at providing information, I'm out of state and the only give me the 7 numbers of a phone number when I'm asking for the right line, they are rude, and half the time the lady that picks up the phone( if called for three days) sounds like she doesn't even want to work there. This place needs a federal over hall or some one to kick their assets in gear.
Not just the sheriff's office, but the ENTIRE Atoka county justice system is BEYOND CORRUPT!!!!
My daughter was held in Atoka County for about 7 months. I cannot begin to express my appreciation for the respect and consideration with which this jail is ran. The jail administrator and staff treat people as they should be treated....as human beings. Jails across the country could sure learn a few lessons from them. Thank you all for making the worst time of our lives bearable. You all truly are a

It simply boggles the brain what Atoka Co does that is SO ILLEGAL IT HURTS!!!!! And GETS AWAY WITH IT!!!!!

This corrupt court also allowed a 6th Amendment rights violation to stand by overruling a motion to dismiss a case when my friend was put through a criminal court proceeding WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY! The attorney she had hired died on a Saturday morning, and in court the following Tuesday she asked for a continuance to allow her time to find a new attorney, and the DA objected, (with no basis for the objection) and declared "we need to move on with this today your honor" and they DID!!!
